Auto skids off road; 6 students, woman injured in Odisha

Malkangiri, Aug 25:

A woman and six school students were injured when an auto-rickshaw in which they were travelling skidded off road and hit a tree near MV-126 village under Kalimela police limits in Odisha’s Malkangiri district this morning.

According to reports, the accident took place when the driver of the vehicle lost control over the wheels as a result of which the auto-rickshaw dashed into a roadside tree. The driver fled the spot and went absconding after the incident.

Locals rescued the injured and admitted them to Kalimela community health centre (CHC). However, the woman was shifted to the district headquarters hospital as her condition deteriorated.
