Bandh disrupts life in Odisha’s Dhenkanal

A dawn-to-dusk bandh called by District Lawyers’ Association in Odisha’s Dhenkanal pressing for establishment of Vigilance court and appointment of judges has thrown normal life out of the gear today.

The members of the association blocked roads at several places bringing vehicular movement to a grinding halt.

While the heavy vehicles remained off roads, the commercial transport service was also badly hit. Besides, the rail service was disrupted also disrupted due to the lawyers’ agitation.

Educational institutions and commercial establishments kept their shutters down. However, the emergency services were spared from the purview of bandh.

Security personnel have been deployed at strategic places of the district to maintain law and order and avoid any untoward incident during the daylong shutdown.
