Barabati Stadium to host 1st T20I between India and West Indies on February 15

Cuttack: The Barabati Stadium in Cuttack will host the first Twenty20 International (T20I) between India and the West Indies on 15 February, 2022, a circular from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) stated on Monday.

The fixtures and venues were announced in the BCCI’s Apex Council meeting held via video conference. The West Indies are part of four nations including New Zealand, Sri Lanka and South Africa that are scheduled to tour India in a jam-packed home season for the host nation.

Team India will play three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three T20Is against the West Indies. The ODI series, scheduled to take place in Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Kolkata, will kickstart from 6 February. Vizag and Trivandrum will host the second and third T20I, respectively.

The last time India played at the Barabati stadium was coincidentally also against the West Indies with India winning by four wickets in an ODI in December 2019.
