Barred from exams, Odisha +2 students ransack college building

Students of a junior college in Odisha’s Boudh district ransacked the college building and set fire to computers and other properties after being denied to write their Plus Two exams as their admit cards had not reached the college.

Irate students of Lopamudra Junior College in Manamunda under Kantamal block in Boudh district had blocked roads on Monday after being denied to appear in the Plus Two (Arts) examinations, which began yesterday.

Angry students today ransacked the college building by smashing its asbestos roof and set fire to computers and articles causing huge damage to properties. They alleged gross negligence on the part of the college authorities in making available admit cards to them despite the fact that they had duly filled up forms and had deposited the prescribed examination fees.

Tension prevails=ed in the area and police has reached the spot and has begun investigations, reports said.
