BJP to gherao Odisha Assembly on Feb 7

Bhubaneswar: The BJP Yuva Morcha will launch an agitation in front of Odisha Assembly on Feb 7 against the ruling BJD demanding employment and rights to educated unemployed youths, informed the BJYM President Tankadhar Tripathy.

Addressing a press conference at the party’s State headquarters in Bhubaneswar today, Tripathy extorted the unemployed youths to join their protest and gherao the State Assembly to fight for their rights.

“While the BJP government at Centre is trying to generate more jobs, the State government is creating hindrance on the way intentionally. Today, lakhs of Odia youths having talents and degrees are roaming on the streets being jobless. The youth, who had voted for Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik first time 19 years ago with hope, is now jobless. And the youth, who will vote for the first time this year, is also unemployed. There is big disappointment among the youths who had voted the ruling BJD in 2000, 2004, 2009 and 2014 elections, said BJP’s youth leader.

When the Centre wants to expand the NTPC and construct a reservoir in Chandikhole, the State government poses a threat to the development. Even, the BJD is not cooperating with the Centre in the coastal highway and railway projects, which will generate a number of jobs for the unemployed Odia youths, he alleged.
