Bollywood Cinematographer booked for domestic violence in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Trouble mounted for Odisha-born Bollywood Cinematographer Manoj Khatoi after his wife turned up before police bringing allegation of domestic violence against the former.

Today, wife Preeti went to Mahila police station here alleging that she has been mentally  and physically tortured by husband Manoj ever since her marriage around 19 years ago. She also alleged that the cinematographer has duped her of around Rs 1.5 crore through internet banking.

Earlier on August 25, she visited Nandankanan police station with the same allegation. However, the Inspector In-charge (IIC) had not registered the complaint citing error in the FIR.  The IIC had asked her to come with a fresh FIR.

Preeti said, “He has transferred a whopping of Rs 1.5 crore from my bank  account to his through internet banking without my knowledge. He has humiliated me for the last 19 years. I want legal action again him. The court of law should ensure justice to me and my son.”

” My father beats my mother in front of me. She has suffered a lot. I am okay with either ways. He can come back and stay with us happily, else he may take divorce and do whatever he wants to,” stated son of  the accused.

Worth mentioning, Manoj has worked in  over 20 Bollywood movies, including Raees, Fukrey, Talaash, DON, Taare Zameen Par and Jawani Janeman.
