Bhubaneswar: Around 5.15 percent people have developed antibodies for COVID-19 in Odisha capital, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary today.
Of more than 1500 samples collected by the BMC in first round of second phase of serological surveillance, only 5.15% people were found to have developed antibodies.
“In community round of sero survey to detect immunity of residents in Bhubaneswar, we found only 5.15% antibody, which shows a very low prevalence,” Chaudhary said.
The survey indicates that Bhubaneswar is the most protected city amidst COVID-19 pandemic.
“However, the city with a lower antibody prevalence is at high risk of witnessing more number of COVID-19 positive cases in upcoming days,” he said.
He urged people of Bhubaneswar to strictly follow the social distancing norms in battle against COVID-19 to contain spread of infections.
