Bucket bomb recovered from Odisha forest, defused

Security personnel today stumbled upon explosives of around 40 kg during a joint combing operation in Telengapadar forest in Odisha’s Gajapati district.

The bucket bomb was recovered during a joint combing operation by police force and District Voluntary Force (DVF) in Gajapati district.

According to reports, Adaba police and DVF recovered the huge bomb during the anti-Maoist operation in Telengapadar forest in Paniganda panchayat under Adaba police limits in the district today in view of the recently concluded martyr’s week (Shahid Saptah) by Maoists from July 28 to August 3.

It’s suspected that the Maoist guerrillas had planted the explosive targeting the police force.

Bomb squads were called in to defuse the bomb, sources added.
