Buses of educational institutions exempted from taxes in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today exempted stage and contract carriages and buses of educational institutions from paying tax and additional tax of for the month of July 2021.

In an order, the Commerce and Transport Department stated payment of tax and additional tax of the buses of educational institutions have been exempted under Section 15(1) of the Odisha Motor Vehicle Taxation (OMVT) Act, 1975.

Earlier, tax and additional tax of buses of educational institutions in the State were exempted in April, May and June, 2021.

Due to the lockdown services of inter-state and intra-state buses were partially prohibited as per the State government’s Covid guidelines.
