Cases of Covid-19 show rising trend as figures cross 200 mark in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Cases of Covid-19 continued to rise in Odisha as positive cases in the State rose over 200 today. As per official data, 212 out of 6,387 samples tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday all of which were in the 0-18 years of age. After 41 new recoveries, the total active cases in the State now stands at 902. Till now, 3,47,68,519 cumulative samples have been tested for Covid out of which 13,38,010 were found positive and 13,27,849 recovered. While no new fatality has been reported in the last 24 hours, total deaths due to Covid-19 is 9,206.

Meanwhile, Odisha Health Director Dr Niranjan Mishra had cautioned people to isolate themselves and get themselves tested if they develop flu-like symptoms. While the government has not decided on lockdown and Covid-dedicated hospitals yet, he said the current wave of the pandemic appears to be small but its severity has not been established yet.
