Central team arrives on Monday to assess damages

A 12-member inter-ministerial team from Centre will visit the state on Monday to assess the damage caused by Cyclone Phailin and the subsequent floods.

The central team, led by Rashmi Goel, joint secretary in the ministry of Home Affairs, during its stay, will make an on-the-spot assessment of the damage. They will be stay in the state till the end of this month, said a source in the office of the state’s special relief commissioner.

The team will be divided into two groups will visit the most affected districts of Ganjam, Puri, Balasore and Mayurbhanj, said the source.
