Centre sanctions 97 ashram schools for Odisha

New Delhi: The Centre has decided to provide financial support to Odisha government to set up 97 ashram schools in the State.

In a written reply, Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Renuka Singh Saruta informed Rajya Sabha that the Ministry of Tribal Affairs will provide financial support to Odisha Government for construction of ashram schools under the Special Central Assistance to Tribal Sub-Plan.

The State government will be responsible for running and the overall maintenance of schools, including appointment of teachers.
