The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) on Monday selected a total of 1078 examination centres in the state for the conduct of the annual Plus Two examinations, scheduled to start from March 3 this year.

“1078 examination centres for the Regular and Ex-Regular students were chosen in the state while 203 hubs were identified for the safe keeping of question papers,” CHSE chairman Prof Basudev Chhatoi said after a meeting chaired by him to discuss the smooth conduct of the Plus two exams this year here.

The Council has planned to strengthen the security arrangements at examination centres with the help of the local police and the district administration, Chhatoi said.

“We have made elaborate arrangements for the examinations under the directive supervision of the district Collectors and SPs and for this four levels of squads will be appointed to keep strict vigil on examiners,” he added.

“We have planned to install Closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras at the 203 hubs to avoid any untoward incidents. The principals of these hubs will be given training on ways to safeguard question papers by the experts of the Council at the Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar (XIMB) on January 28,” said the CHSE chairman.

“It was also decided at the meeting to ban people from venturing into a 200-metre radius from the centre during examination time. Six examinations centres, from where incidents of malpractice were reported last year, were cancelled this year,” Chhatoi said.

Controller of Examinations Prof Biranchi Narayan Mishra and other senior officials of the Council were present at the meeting.
