College girl abducted in Odisha capital rescued from Hyderabad

Bhubaneswar: Twin City Commissionerate of Police rescued a teenage girl from Hyderabad, almost 10 days after she was abducted from here, police said today.

The girl studying in a prestigious women’s varisity here was abducted from the capital city by the accused Akash Nayak on September 6.

After her parents filed a complaint with the Saheed Nagar police station, the cops launched a manhunt to nab the accused.

After chasing the case for almost ten days, the investigating tracked the accused to Hyderabad.

The accused hailing from Badasahi in Mayurbhanj district was arrested and forwarded to court today.

“The accused Akash Nayak has been arrested and forwarded to court today. He had kidnapped a Plus II first year (Arts) student in the first week of this month. The victim was rescued from Hyderabad,” Saheed Nagar IIC Kishore Mund informed media.

A case under section 366-A, 376 IPC and 4 of POCSO Act has been registered against the accused.
