Congress to hold strategy session Jan 17

New Delhi, Dec 16 :

The Congress will hold a strategy session in Delhi Jan 17 ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, a senior party leader said Monday.

“The AICC session will be held in Delhi Jan 17,” Congress general secretary Janardan Dwivedi told reporters.

The session assumes significance as it comes just months ahead of the next general elections.

The Congress, which suffered a rout in the four assembly elections November-December, needs to firm up its strategy for the Lok Sabha polls, said the party sources.

In a similar session in Jaipur this year Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was elevated to the post of vice president.

The Congress also needs to effect changes in the party organisation and bring in new state unit chiefs, especially where it suffered electoral losses to gear up for the next big battle of Lok Sabha polls, added the sources. (IANS)
