Rainfall activities, Heat Wave conditions very likely in Odisha districts on April 29

Bhubaneswar: Due to prevalent North-westerly and Westerly dry air and high solar insolation, rainfall activities, and heat wave conditions are very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha on April 29, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre forecasted today.

People are advised to take precautionary measures while going outside during the day hours between 11.00 AM and 3.00 PM. Maximum (day) temperature is likely to further rise by 2°C during the next 24 hours and no large change thereafter at a few places over the district of Odisha.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD mentioned, “Maximum temperatures observed marked rise at one or two places over the districts of South Coastal Odisha, appreciable rise at a few places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were markedly above normal at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, appreciably above normal at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, above normal at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha, at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

The highest maximum temperature of 44.7°C was recorded yesterday at Angul and the lowest minimum temperature of 22.5°C was recorded at Phulbani in the plains of Odisha.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Nuapada, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Heat wave to severe heat wave conditions is very likely to prevail in the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Jajpur, and Boudh.

Orange Warning: (Be Prepared)-

Heat wave conditions are very likely to prevail in the districts of Nuapada, Bolangir, Subarnapur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Balasore, Jagatsinghpur, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, and Rayagada.

Yellow Warning: (Be Updated)-

Heat wave conditions are very likely to prevail over the districts of Koraput, Puri, Sundargarh, and Sambalpur.

Hot and humid weather conditions are very likely to prevail over the districts of Koraput, and Puri.

Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 KMPH are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Kandhamal, and Koraput.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Ganjam, Kandhamal, and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
