COVID-19 outbreak: Ferry ghats shut in Odisha’s Bhadrak

Bhadrak: A day after 38 persons reach Patisunapur coast in Odisha’s Ganjam district on sea route, the Bhadrak district administration today ordered to shut all ferry ghats in the district fearing similar attempts to be made by people returning from Kolkata.

As per reports, the Bhadrak Collector Gyana Das directed the ferry ghats on Baitarani, Salandi and Mantei rivers to shut.

An official said there are chances that people interested to return from Kolkata can take the river route to enter Basudebpur, Tihidi, Chandbali, Dhamra, Dhamnagar and Aardi areas of Bhadrak district.

So far, 16 positive cases have been detected in Bhadrak district and most of them have recent travel history to Kolkata.
