Crime Branch registers another FIR against Sarathi Baba

Odisha Crime Branch police today registered another FIR against self-proclaimed god man Srimad Sarathi Dev alias Santosh Kumar Raula based on the complaint lodged by a woman from Kendrapada on Thursday.
Reliable sources said a case has been registered against Srimad Sarathi and some of his associates under section 354 of the IPC (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty.—Whoever assaults or uses criminal force to any woman, intending to outrage or knowing it to be likely that he will thereby outrage her modesty, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both).
Crime Branch sources said the case will be investigated by a woman inspector. The woman had levelled charges of sexual exploitation and blackmail against Sarathi.
Meanwhile, Crime Branch has begun its investigations into transactions and business dealings of Sarathi Productions. Crime Branch today interrogated the producer of Odia movie ‘Bachelor’ at its headquarters.
Besides, the Crime Branch is also interrogating the woman Manjulata Swain, who had lodged the FIR at the Mangalabag police station on behalf of the medico who had accompanied Srimad Sarathi to Hyderabad. The woman had then claimed that she was the aunt of a friend of the medico.
However, a senior a senior official of the Crime Branch said that she has not been arrested.
The medico had mentioned in her second FIR lodged with the Crime Branch that she had been forced by a woman claiming to be a CBI officer to lodge the FIR at Mangalabag police station.
Meanwhile, Crime Branch has traced a bank account with a fixed deposit of Rs 10 lakh in the name of Satyam Sekhar Raula.
