Cyclone ‘Titli’: Odisha to provide financial aid for house damage, livestock loss

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will provide financial assistance to Cyclone ‘Titli’ victims who have suffered house damage or livestock loss during the calamity, informed Deputy Relief Commissioner Pravat Ranjan Mohapatra today.

An aid of Rs 1,01,900 for families in hilly areas and Rs 95,100 in plain areas will be provided towards house building. In cases of partially damaged houses, Rs 5200 for pucca houses, Rs 3200 for kutcha ones and Rs 4100 for huts will be provided, said Mohapatra.

Besides, Rs 2000 for utensils and Rs 1800 for clothes will also be given to the victims, he said.

On the other hand, financial assistance for loss of livestock will be provided at the rate of Rs 30,000 for loss of a cow and Rs 25,000 for the loss of an ox, subjected to a maximum aid for three such animals per family.

In cases of animals like goat and sheep, assistance of Rs 3000 per family subjected to a maximum of 30 such animals will be given. Similarly, assistance of Rs 50 per family will be provided for loss of poultry animals upto a maximum of Rs 5000, the official said.
