Daughter courts controversy: Odisha Minister says, ‘Law will take its own course’

Bhubaneswar: A day after a video featuring four women including daughter of Health Minister Naba Das and two Ollywood actresses in the prohibited zone of Hirakud Dam reportedly went viral on social media, the Minister today said law will take its own course.

Das said, “I have neither seen the video nor aware of any such thing. As my daughter is an adult, she should be asked about the matter.”

Photography or video recording is prohibited on Hirakud Dam. Despite the prohibition, Prakruti Mishra and Elina Samantray, the minister’s daughter Deepali Das and fashion blogger Lovina Nayak were seen hanging out and taking videos at Hirakud dam in Burla. The incident came to fore after one of the actresses uploaded a video on her Instagram profile yesterday.

Hours later Elina sought an apology and said she was not aware of the prohibition.

Toeing similar lines Prakruti later in the day today said, “We had gone to Hirakud Dam after taking the due permission. But we did not photography and video shooting is banned on the dam. Influenced by the nature’s beauty, we clicked photos and shot videos. Such mistake will not recur.”

Sambalpur SP Kanwar Vishal Singh had sought a report from Hirakud SDPO in this connection.
