Depressed over mother’s death, Gurgaon woman jumps from 15th floor

Gurgaon, Nov 8 :

Shocked at the death of her mother during treatment at a multi-specialty private hospital here, a 25-year-old woman Saturday committed suicide by jumping from the 15th floor of the same hospital, police said.

Neha Gupta, a resident of Muradnagar area of Ghaziabad district in Uttar Pradesh, jumped from the 15th floor of the Medanta-The Medicity hospital in Sector 38. She died on the spot before she could be provided medical aid, a doctor said.

“Neha’s 58-year-old mother Sunita Gupta was a patient of heart disease. She was admitted to the hospital Oct 18, and died Saturday noon during treatment,” said police officer Vijay Kumar of the Sadar police station.

“Neha was a science post-graduate. She went into depression after her mother’s death. At the time of her suicide, some family members were present at the hospital. No suicide note was found,” he said.

Investigations are on.
