East Zone T20: Odisha lose to Bengal in close match

Hosts Bengal pulled off a hard-earned win over Odisha by nine runs in the East Zone T20 Cricket Tournament here today.

Batting first, Bengal made a modest total of 121 for 7 with Vivek Singh (38), AK Nandi (29) and Manoj Tiwari (22) being the major scorers.
For Odisha, Biplab Samantray and Jayant Behera claimed two wickets each.
In reply, Odisha got into trouble after its star batsman Natraj Behera was out cheaply for just two runs, while Anurag Sarangi was out for seven.
Although Gobind Poddar steadied the innings with a brisk 39 off 36 balls, he ran out of partners as wickets fell at regular intervals.
For Bengal, PB Chakraborty, SC Sanyal, AA Gani and AA Nandi claimed two wickets each.
