Four cops among six arrested for Odisha constable test question leak

The Crime Branch of Odisha police today arrested six persons allegedly involved in the question paper leak in the constable recruitment test scheduled on March 15, which had to be cancelled at the last minute.

Shockingly, four police personnel of constable rank were among those arrested. The other two were a constable job aspirant and a layman.

“We have arrested these six persons for their complicity in the case. We would take them on remand to interrogate them for further leads,” Crime Branch ADG, BK Sharma said.

The arrested persons include Kishore Kumar Mohanty, the general secretary of Odisha Police-Sepoy Sangh.

The constable examination was conducted by Odisha Police State Council Board at 31 venues across the state.

After reports of question paper leak surfaced, the test was cancelled at the last minute leaving thousands of aspirants shattered.

As per reports, nearly 40, 000 candidates had applied for the 1300 odd constables’ posts on offer.

The probe was handed over to the Crime Branch the same day.
