Hailstorm likely in 7 Odisha districts by tomorrow morning

Bhubaneswar: Several districts of Odisha are likely to witness rain or thunderstorm by tomorrow morning, said the IMD in its midday weather bulletin today.

A few districts may witness hailstorm by 8.30 am on Saturday, it added.

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal and Kalahandi and at one or two places over the remaining districts of Odisha my 8.30 am on May 27 (Saturday), predicted the IMD.

Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Kendrapara, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Ganjam while thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Boudh, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Koraput, said the IMD.

On the other hand, hailstorm is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj by tomorrow morning, added the MeT department.
