HAL’s Sunabeda unit to remain closed from May 15 amid Covid-19 surge

Sunabeda: As there is no respite from Covid-19, the Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) today decided to close all its offices and divisions including one in Koraput district for seven working days from May 15, 2021.

In a letter to its employees, the HAL stated considering the request of unions, officers’ associations and the overall pandemic situation, it has been decoded to close all divisions and offices temporarily from May 15 to 23, 2021.

In Odisha, the HAL’s one unit has been functioning at Sunabeda of Koraput district.

The letter further stated, “Employees would work additional 3 hours per shift per day for 14 days or as applicable to make good the number of days of the holidays. The adjustment of additional working hours needs to be completed prior to 31.7.21.”

Employees who were assigned to work in the general shift at 8 AM/8.30 AM will work additional hours. However, the general shift timing for this purpose would be maximum up to 7 PM.

In respect of Divisions/Offices where Saturdays are weekly off days or work alternate Saturday or where a day working on Saturday is followed etc., may decide on the number of hours of additional working per day and maximum number of days to be worked, to compensate the Holidays, the HAL stated in the letter.

No employee would leave the headquarters between May 15 to 23 unless due to compelling reasons with the approval of leave sanctioning authority, the letter stated.
