Hanuman Jayanti: Odisha court grants bail to BJP leader

The Court of Additional District Judge today granted bail to senior Odisha BJP leader Jayanarayan Mishra.

The court had remanded Mishra to judicial custody for violating the prohibitory order and threatening the police while wielding sword at public places during a procession on Hanuman Jayanti in Odisha’s Sambalpur city on March 14 this year.

Mishra was released on bail against furnishing of two bailers and a surety of Rs 20,000, said Satyanarayan Panda, his lawyer.

Mishra was arrested on March 15 for violating the the prohibitory order clamped by the district administration to restrain the devotees not to display sharp weapons during celebration of Hanuman Jayanti in Odisha’s Sambalpur city.
