“The Depression over Bangladesh this morning has moved west-northwest and lay centered over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh, about 30 km south-southeast of Berhampore in West Bengal) at 5.30 PM. It would move west-northwest and gradually weaken into a well-marked low pressure area. Under its influence, rain or thundershower would occur at most places over North Odisha and many places over South Odisha with heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places over North Odisha and heavy rainfall at one or two places over South Odisha during next 24 hours,” the release said.

Since there is no possibility of cyclonic storm, signals have been lowered at all ports in Odisha.

The local fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea as gusty surface wind with speed reaching 45-55 kmph and gusting up to 65 kmph over Odisha coast would make the sea condition rough to very rough.
