‘Hurt’ guest house attendant kills self

New Delhi, Aug 10 :

A guest house attendant at a temple here hanged himself after being scolded by his manager over an anomaly in the expenditure tally, police said.

The body of 42-year-old Nirmal Garami was found hanging from the ceiling fan by another staff member Sunday morning in a room on the first floor of the guest house building inside the Kali Mandir in south Delhi’s C.R. Park area.

Police said no suicide note was found.

Garami’s family, which lived in the guest house quarters, said he was depressed for the past two days after being scolded by the manager over some missing money.

A colleague told police the temple committee members had threatened him that they would inform police over the issue.

Police said they were verifying the allegations, and have questioned the committee members, including the manager.

Garami, a native of West Bengal, worked as an attendant in the temple guest house for the past 10 years.
