I was forcibly made to dance in ICU: Padma Shri Kamala Pujari

Cuttack: Amid controversy over a viral video which was allegedly captured where Padma Shri Kamala Pujari is seen dancing in intensive care unit (ICU) of SCB Medical College and Hospital here, the elderly woman today became vocal and said that she was forcibly made to dance.

“I never wanted to dance, but forcibly made to do so. Despite my repeated denial, she (a social activist named Mamata Behera) did not listen to me at all. Rather, I had to dance even if I was sick. As a result, I got tired and my condition deteriorated,” the female patient Pujari said.

The female activist was seen dancing with Pujari with a music being played in the background. However, the elderly woman does not know the so-called social activist, Pujari clarified.

On the other hand, the social activist Behera kept on taking photos and capturing video of the moment, Pujari’s attendant in the government-run health facility Rajeeb Hial alleged.

It is pertinent to mention, Pujari was suffering from kidney-related ailments and was discharged from the hospital on Monday after receiving treatment for five days.

Paraja tribal community of undivided Koraput has strongly condemned the incident. They warned to stage agitation in coming days if action will not be taken against the wrongdoer.
