IG NSG, Odisha DGP discuss security issues

Bhubaneswar: Officials of the country’s elite force to tackle all facets of terrorism, National Security Guards (NSG) today discussed security issues with Odisha’s Director General of Police (DGP) K B Singh at a crucial meeting held at his Camp Office here.

Sources privy to the meeting said NSG officials discussed with the DGP over the state’s preparedness to tackle in the event of a possible terror strike.

Matters like standard operating procedures (SOP) during such eventualities figured during the discussion between the top cops, the sources added.

The NSG has planned to conduct three-day mock drills at the State Secretariat, Odisha Legislative Assembly, Biju Patnaik International Airport and other important government installations, the sources revealed.

“We have such type of training exercises at regular intervals for proper coordination among us. This is a routine affair. Such training exercises are being organized at all places. We are doing a joint training exercise. Odisha Police is properly trained. We are together trying to learn from each other. This helps in tackling any potential disaster,” told Sasank  Mishra IG NSG to reporters after the meeting.
