Sambalpur: As Sambalpur is gradually limping back towards normalcy after the violence during Hanuman Jayanti celebrations, the local administration has decided to resume internet services in some areas of the district.
The services will be resumed in Kuchinda, Rairakhol, Naktideul, Jujumara, Bamra and Jamankira areas.
On the other hand, suspension of internet services in Sambalpur town was today extended by another 24 hours till 10 AM of tomorrow to curb circulation of inflammatory messages and prevent misuse of social media.
The restriction on internet service has been imposed since April 13.
Curfew timings have been relaxed in the town from 7 am to 6 pm for the convenience of public.
Notably, a motorcycle rally was taken out in the town on April 12 ahead of Hanuman Jayanti. While the rally was passing through Motijharan Square, some persons pelted stones at the participants of the rally.
The incident subsequently led to a clash between two groups. Many shops and vehicles were set on fire during the clash.
