According to reports, the former parliamentarian from Koraput was summoned to the Rayagada CBI camp office at Circuit House for questioning this afternoon.

However, Pangi dismissed the reports.

“CBI has not interrogated me. I had gone to Circuit House to take rest. Some of my party men are trying to defame me,” Pangi said after coming out of the Circuit House.

The sleuths arrived here yesterday for the 15th phase investigation in the case, sources said.

Notably, the lady teacher of Tikiri Upper Primary School in Rayagada district, Itishree Pradhan, had mentioned Pangi’s name in her videographed dying statement holding him responsible for her plights.

Pangi was denied a ticket to contest the polls in the last general election in 2014 after the issue snowballed into a major political controversy as the Opposition accused him of shielding Dandasena.

Itishree, hailing from Pipli, was allegedly subjected to sexual harassment by school inspector (SI) Netrananda Dandasena who has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Rayagada District and Sessions court last month.

On October 27, 2013, Itishree was set ablaze in the school premises by some unidentified persons. On November 1, she succumbed to her burn injuries at a Vizag hospital.
