Expressing grief over the death of five persons during combing operation in Kandhamal district, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh for the family members of each deceased.

Patnaik also ordered a judicial probe into the incident. Besides, he announced that a member of the deceased’s family would be provided with a government job, the family members of the deceased would be included under social security schemes and houses will so be provided to them.

Notably, five villagers, including two women and a minor boy, were killed during combing operation near Gumudumaha village under Baliguda police limits in Kandhamal district last night.
