KISS archer from Odisha to take part in Asian Grand Prix

Ranjit Nayak, a second year Plus Two Arts tribal student of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), hailing from Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district, has been selected as a member of the Indian Junior contingent to participate in the 2nd Asian Grand Prix Tournament in Taiwan, Chinese Taipei scheduled from August 10.

Ranjit, who will participate in Recurve round in the six-day tournament, was selected following his excellent performance in the 4th National Ranking Archery Tournament at SAAP Sports Complex, Gachibowli in Hyderabad held from June 25 – 28, 2014.

He will attend the national coaching camp to be held at Sonepat, Haryana on July 20.

KISS had provided him with the opportunity to undergo training under professional coaches in its in-house facility.

The teenager subsequently displayed commendable performance in the Youth World Archery Championship at Wuxi in China last year.
