Kuchha road forces kin to carry pregnant woman on cot in Odisha

Bhawanipatna: In a highly unfortunate incident, a pregnant woman was today carried to hospital on a cot by her kin at Siuli village in Koksara area of Odisha’s Kalahandi district as ambulance failed to reach the village due to kuchha road.

According to reports, the woman complained of labour pain this morning following which her family members telephoned 102-ambulance service.

However, the ambulance couldn’t arrive at the village due to deteriorated road condition.

Finding no other way, the kin of the pregnant woman carried her on a cot for around 1.5 km.

She was later admitted to a nearby hospital where she delivered a baby boy.

Condition of the woman and her baby was stated to be stable, reports said.
