Labourer murdered on Utkal University campus in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: A labourer engaged in a construction work on premises of the Utkal University was found murdered on Thursday night.

The deceased has been identified as Gujuram Singh from Udala area in Mayurbhanj district.

According to preliminary report, Gujuram was engaged as labourer in a new boundary construction work on the campus of Utkal University. The murder incident occurred at around 10.00 pm yesterday

Eyewitnesses said the Gujuram had indulged into argument with another labourer following which the latter attacked him with a sharp weapon and ran off.

The victim, who was lying in a pool of blood, was immediately rushed to a hospital. However, he succumbed to the injuries.

On receiving information, Saheed Nagar police reached the crime site on university campus and conducted raids in different places to nab the accused person.
