Labourer’s death at Paradip IOCL refinery sparks tension

Jagatsinghpur: Tension gripped refinery of Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) at Paradip in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district today over the death of a labourer.

Several labourers resorted to road blockade demanding compensation for the deceased’s family.

According to reports, Santosh Sahu (32) of Gandikapur village under Tirtol police limits in the district was working as a contractual labourer at the refinery.

He fell unconscious this morning while working with other labourers and was hospitalised.

However, doctor declared him brought dead at the hospital.

Till last reports came in, the company was yet to announce any compensation for the family of the deceased.
