Low pressure to trigger rainfall across Odisha over next 48 hours

Bhubaneswar, July 11 :

Odisha will get a good amount of rainfall in the next 48 hours as a result of a low pressure formed off the Odisha-Bengal coast.

“Under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over Northwest and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal, a low pressure area has formed over Northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha and West Bengal coasts this morning”, the Met Centre here said in its afternoon bulletin..

“Thundershower would occur at many places over Odisha during next 24 hours and increase in rainfall after 24 hours,” the bulletin said while warning of heavy rainfall at one or two places over South Odisha during next 24 hours.

During the next 24 hours  gusty surface wind reaching a speed of 35 to 45 kmph may prevail along and off Odisha Coast, the Met bulletin said.

Fishermen have been advised to be cautious while venturing into sea.
