Maoist cadre surrenders in Odisha’s Malkangiri

Malkangiri, Nov 25:

A Maoist cadre identified as Ram Madkami surrendered before Malkangiri SP Mitrabhanu Mohapatra today.

Madkami also handed over a 9 mm pistol and 13 bullets possessed by him.

The red rebel was working for Malkangiri-Visakhapatnam-Koraput Border Division of the banned outfit from 2010 to 2016, sources said.

He was carrying a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head. Several cases are pending against him including explosion in Padia block here, Silakota encounter and killing of six persons suspecting them as police informers, sources added.

Notably, as many as 222 Maoist sympathizers had surrendered before police in Malkangiri on Tuesday.
