Minor boy abandoned by parents rescued in Odisha

Balasore: Police officials rescued a minor boy spotted begging on streets after reportedly being abandoned by his parents here in the district.

The incident was reported from Makhapada village under Nilgiri Police Station.

According to reports, the 8-year-old boy was surviving by begging on streets being deprived of education and care by his parents.

Sources said that the child was roaming helplessly after their parents deserted him few months ago.

Reports said that his parents eloped with their paramours and were settled down, leaving him alone.

The helpless boy accepted begging as only means for survival after suffering from emotional breakdown at little age.

On receiving information from locals, the Nilgiri police rescued the victim and handed him over to the Childline officials.
