One killed as miscreants open fire at liquor shop in Odisha

A person, who was critically injured after unidentified miscreants today fired three rounds of bullets at him at Brahmanijharilo in Odisha’s Cuttack district, succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital here.

According to reports, some unidentified men had come to a liquor outlet in Brahmanijharilo market under Cuttack Sadar police station limits this afternoon to buy alcoholic beverages. However, an altercation ensued between the brother of the liquor shop owner and the group following which one of them opened fire at the former.

The brother of the liquor shop owner identified as Binod Bihari Das alias Kutu sustained bullet injuries and was rushed to a private hospital here in critical condition. However, he succumbed to his inuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The assailants fled the spot after committing the crime.

Meanwhile, police have begun investigation into the matter.
