Woman’s decomposed body found on river bank on the outskirts of Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar: The decomposed body of a woman was found today while lying on the river bank near Basuaghai village under Badagada police limits and on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.

Identity of the woman has not been ascertained yet, a senior cop of Badagada PS said.

According to a source, the woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances by some locals. The deceased was lying on the river bank in a bush when she was spotted. It is suspected that the woman might have been killed by someone and later thrown on the river bank, the source added.

On being informed, Badagada police reached the spot and seized the woman’s body. Police have registered a case in this connection and launched a probe to ascertain the cause of death.

The woman’s body was sent to a nearby hospital for post-mortem and a report is awaited.
