Morning weather update: Thunderstorm, rain likely in 14 Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: The regional meteorological centre issued thunderstorm and rainfall alert for as many as 14 districts across Odisha in the morning.

“Moderate thunderstorm with lightning and intense spells of rainfall likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Koraput, Rayagada, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khordha and Nayagarh,” Bhubaneswar MeT said.

Such condition is likely to prevail in those above districts between 7.30 am and 10.30 am.

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon is likely to arrive in parts of Odisha today. Under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over eastcentral and adjoining northeast Bay of Bengal, a low pressure area has formed over northeast Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood.
