Odisha adds 2138 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hrs; below 40,000 tests conducted

Bhubaneswar:  With 2138 fresh COVID-19 positive cases detected in Odisha in the last 24 hours, the state’s cumulative case burden  surged to 2,64,149.

In the last 24 hours, 38,572 tests were conducted in the state, informed the Government.

Of the total fresh cases detected from all 30 districts, 1251 have been reported from different quarantine centres while remaining 887 are local contact cases. Contact tracing and follow-up action is underway, said Information and Public Relation (I & PR ) Department.

Khordha recorded highest 361 fresh cases followed by Cuttack (156) and Angul (151).

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 24,457. However, 2,38,535 patients have recovered in the state so far.
