Odisha: Ambulance enroute hospital suffers flat tyre, patient dies

Bhawanipatna: In an incident that has challenged the tall claims of the Odisha Government regarding healthcare services, a patient died as an ‘108’ ambulance carrying him suffered flat tyre in Odisha’s Kalahandi district, today.

According to reports, the ambulance was carrying one Tikemani Naik of Deobhog area in Chhattisgarh district from Dharmagarh to the District Headquarters Hospital.

The emergency vehicle suffered flat tyre on Hati river bridge near Junagarh. As the driver of the ambulance took out the stepney in order to replace it with the damaged one, the spare tyre was also found in a punctured state.

The driver then contacted the concerned authorities for another ambulance, which arrived at the scene after around 30 minutes.
