Odisha Assembly to pass Appropriation Bill on Mar 31

The Odisha Assembly, in its second phase session is scheduled to approve Appropriation Bill on March 31.

Odisha AssemblyAs per the schedule, prior to the commencement of the second phase of the Assembly session, the department-wise permanent committees would review the financial allocations earmarked in the state’s 2015-16 annual budget within 15 days.

The committees would present their reports on the opening day of the second phase session of the House on March 11 while the demand discussions on these departments would begin from March 12.

The House will have a demand discussion on Rural Development department on March 12, Agriculture and Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare departments on March 13, Planning and Coordination department on March 16, Revenue and Disaster Management department on March 17, Water Resources department on March 18, Housing and Urban Development department on March 19, Panchayati Raj department on March 20 and Health and Family Welfare department on March 21, Energy department on March 23, SC and ST Development and OBC and Backward Community Welfare departments on March 24, School and Mass Education and Higher Education departments on March 25, Construction department on March 26, Home and General Administration department on March 27 and Steel and Mines and Industries department on March 30.

After the demand discussions, the House would present the Appropriation Bill on March 31 for approval.

Apart from second Saturday and Sundays, the House would remain closed on Ram Navami, Utkal Diwas and Good Friday.

The highlights of first phase session of the House were the inaugural address by Governor SC Jamir and presentation of state’s annual budget.

Besides, revised amendment in the new Police Bill and VAT were also presented in the House.
