Odisha BJP lodges FIR over derogatory remarks against PM Modi on social media

Bhubaneswar: Derogatory remarks on the Prime Minister allegedly being made on a Facebook post of the ruling party will not be spared, said senior BJP leader Samir Mohanty. The saffron party state unit today lodged an FIR with cyber police in this connection, seeking action against the ‘wrongdoer(s)’.

“People of Odisha will not tolerate any abusive comments against Narendra Modi Ji. BJP will resort to agitations in the days ahead, in case whoever is at fault will not be arrested,” Mohanty said.

“BJD has become intolerant as the Prime Minister has the support of about 80 per cent of people in the State. A post uploaded on Facebook from Biju Janata Dal-Odisha’s ID, in which the ruling party office-bearers are Admins, has abusive comments. This is indecent and not acceptable,” Mohanty stated.

“Modi Ji is being praised and honoured by people from all over the world. The PM has been giving importance to the development of tourism sector in the country. However, this was disliked by BJD party workers and supporters. So that, they passed objectionable comments,” Mohanty added.

Cyber Police should register a case against such BJD supporters under Sections 124(A), 153(A), 504, 505(2), 66, and 67 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and arrest them soon, the FIR appealed.

Notably, BJD supporters namely Ipsita Sahoo, Subrat Chhatoi, Anjana Kabi, Pankaj K Singh, Amarjit Senapati, and Nivedita Baliarsingh Nayak etc have allegedly made derogatory remarks.
