Odisha: Brown sugar worth Rs 1.5 lakh seized, 2 arrested

Khurda: The Quick Action Team (QAT) of Commissionerate Police today arrested two drug peddlers in Odisha capital after brown sugar weighing approximately 15 gm was being seized from their possession.

The seized brown sugar is estimated to cost around Rs 1.50 lakh.

Acting on a tip-off, the QAT along with Jatani police raided a house in Pitapalli under Jatani police limits this afternoon and seized the contraband item from their possession, a police official said.

The police also seized a bike and cash worth Rs 1.60 lakh from their possession.

Meanwhile, an investigation is underway to crack the network, the official added.
