Odisha BSF jawan dies in Tripura

The body of Abani Kanta Sahu (28), a BSF jawan from Odisha, who died in Tripura yesterday, reached his native village Bhangdihi under Bonai block in Sundargarh district today.

While the cause of the death of Sahu was not confirmed, sources said he died as the earthquake struck the area where he was on duty.

Sahu is survived by his wife, four month old son and parents.

The body was brought in a coffin from Tripura to Kolkata by a helicopter on Sunday from where it was brought to Rourkela by Samaleswari Express today.

From Rourkela, the body was taken in a convoy to his native village accompanied by eight BSF officials from Tripura, IIC of Bonei police station and other senior police officials of the district.

The body was later cremated after a guard of honour.
