Odisha cop grievously hurt in attack

Sinapali (Nuapada), Aug 2:

A policeman of Sinapali police station in Odisha’s Nuapada district was seriously injured after he was attacked with a sharp weapon by the accused at Bhuliabhata village this morning.

According to reports, a team of police led by the assistant sub inspector (ASI) of Sinapali police station Arun Khilar had gone to Bharuamunda village to arrest an accused Sunakar Majhi, who had attacked his father-in=law and mother-in-law.

After arriving at the village, the team had gone to the house of the accused to arrest him when the latter suddenly attacked the policemen with an axe in which the ASI was critically injured.

The seriously injured ASI was rushed to the district headquarters hospital from where he was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
